It all started when my friend Art advised me to choose an event and prepare for it. Having never participated in a race, I chose the Leadville 100 MTB. It is either go big or go home. After completing the first Leadville 100, I immediately went to the trash bin to get rid of the muesli that had been with me throughout the day. I was tired of my fuelling problems taking away from the blood, sweat, and tears I had invested in my training. I needed to discover sustenance that would keep my stomach safe, taste nice, and carry me through to the finish line minus the second breakfast.
