Rachel Zietz, a teenager who played lacrosse player and entrepreneur, established Gladiator Lacrosse in 2012. Gladiator Lacrosse originated from the dissatisfaction with the existing product offerings, namely their lack of choices, high price, and poor quality. Like any player looking to get better, the coaches told her to play wall ball and get as much practice as she could with her stroke. But the stuff she bought to use in the backyard was either too pricey or of poor quality to withstand outside conditions. After taking part in the Young Entrepreneurs Academy Program, which is jointly sponsored by Florida Atlantic University and the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce, Rachel was inspired to launch a company that would offer premium lacrosse equipment at a reasonable price.
