FREMO stands for Freundeskreis Europaischer MOdellbahner, which translates to Friendship of European Railway Modellers. In the United States, there is another group called Free Mo for Free Form Modules. Both clubs, European and American, are completely separate yet share same aims. We attempt to operate as close to the prototype as feasible. We employ modules because they allow us to temporarily build up enormous layouts that require space and cannot be hired permanently. Because no unprototypical circles are generated, the modules can be practically any size and shape. Only the faceplates must fulfill certain fundamental requirements. This enables for the biggest radii possible, and stations may be built to size.
