On the city of Sydney Pitt Street, a youthful William Dymock 1861 to 1900Â opened a bookstore. William was a charming young man who had extensive knowledge in his industry. As his business expanded, he moved to larger and fancier locations, becoming the enclave largest bookstore. In the 1890s, he established what would become a strong relationship with the location by moving his operations into the southern wing of the Royal Hotel on George Street, Sydney. his company claimed to be the biggest in the world bookshop, with over a million volumes in stock. For 32 years, Dymocks was a tenant of the city of Sydney Royal Hotel on George Street.
