But the trip across the world she took for five years with her spouse was what really sparked her creativity. After spending time in several cultures and learning from craftspeople all across the world, Catherine opened Catherine Weitzman Jewelry in 2000 in San Francisco. She moved to Hawaii in 2004 and opened a studio there, where each item is still made by hand.
